Algatek Participates in CCU Implementation Discussion for Industry

Jakarta, 20 November 2025 — Algatek Karbon Nusantara participated in a key discussion on the implementation of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) in the industrial sector, organized by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia. The forum brought together stakeholders from government institutions, industry associations, think tanks, and research organizations to explore practical pathways for reducing industrial carbon emissions in Indonesia.

The discussion was led by Mr. Apit Pria Nugraha, Head of the Green Industry Center (Pusat Industri Hijau), and served as a follow-up to Presidential Regulation No. 14 of 2024 on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The forum aimed to strengthen policy alignment and technical readiness to support Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2050 target, particularly within carbon-intensive industrial sectors.

Key topics discussed during the forum included Indonesia’s current energy mix, challenges in decarbonizing industrial operations, and the importance of deploying carbon capture solutions that are energy-efficient, scalable, and economically viable. Participants also highlighted the need for clear regulations and transparent carbon accounting frameworks to support the adoption of CCU technologies across industries.

The discussion emphasized that Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) plays a critical role in reducing industrial emissions while maintaining productivity, making it a strategic solution for industries transitioning toward low-carbon and sustainable operations.

During the multi-stakeholder exchange, Algatek Karbon Nusantara shared insights on microalgae-based carbon capture solutions and low-energy carbon technologies that can support industrial decarbonization. These approaches offer potential benefits in terms of carbon absorption efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and compatibility with limited industrial spaces.

Through active participation in policy and industry discussions, Algatek continues to collaborate with government bodies, industrial players, and research institutions to accelerate the development of sustainable industrial practices and contribute to Indonesia’s transition toward a cleaner, low-carbon economy.
