Algatek participated in the National Final of the Global Investment Gateway – Road to Startup World Cup 2026, an initiative supported by Indonesia’s Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Kementerian UMKM) together with Pegasus Tech Ventures.
The program brought together selected Indonesian startups from various sectors, including climate technology, healthcare, agrifood, logistics, circular economy, industry, financial technology, and other emerging sectors.
During the final stage, we had the opportunity to present Algatek’s journey, technology, business model, and vision for the future of climate technology.
At Algatek, we develop microalgae-based Carbon Capture and Utilization technology designed to provide a biological approach to carbon management and industrial decarbonization.
Through our photobioreactor systems, microalgae utilize CO₂ during their growth process and convert it into biomass, creating opportunities for both carbon capture and further biomass utilization.
Over the years, we have continued developing and implementing this technology across different applications, from indoor environments to industrial installations, including systems connected to industrial emission sources. Our participation in Startup World Cup allowed us to bring this technology and our experience from Indonesia to a broader audience.
More importantly, it gave us an opportunity to demonstrate that climate technology developed in Indonesia can address real industrial challenges and compete on a global stage.
Startup World Cup provides access to a broader ecosystem of global investors, technology companies, entrepreneurs, and potential strategic partners.
This opportunity is particularly important as we continue working toward scaling our technology, expanding industrial implementation, and strengthening Algatek’s position within the global climate-tech ecosystem.
From Indonesia to the world, our journey continues.
See you in San Francisco
